Mambo Italian Street Food

I have been to Mambo 3 times and this will be my last time. The first 2 times I went were decent except all the flies on/around my food indoors no matter where I was seated. The staff if friendly and it gives that homely family owned authentic vibe, which is why I came back, however this last time I took a family member as it was their first time and I kinda raved about their gnocchi. So we get there and was seated right away, but it started out all wrong and one of the waitresses accidentally dropped the small serving plate on my mom's foot, she apologize which was a simple mistake it happens, but when the food came out I think that is what the entire all around experience bad. I suggested to my mom to get the gnocchi (which the sauce is great) and to add a protein on the side so she got the grilled chicken. The chicken came out soo dry, over cooked and no seasoning what so ever. I had to taste it myself to make sure and it was not good. I ordered the Rigatoni Salsicia (never had it before) and it came out with very little Pomadoro sauce and it was extremely watery, no seasoning or flavor and the veggies were raw and crunchy it was like a pasta salad more than a hot dish. I was highly disappointed and when my waitress finally came passing by my booth, I stopped her to ask for cheese to help my dish out because if I wanted it to look and taste like it did. I would have asked my 16yr to cook LOL. There were whole bay leaves all in my food that I had to pick out. and lots of flies that she kept apologizing for.. Our water decanter and glasses came out before our food which is what they do. Our small serving plates, silverware and glasses were dirty and our water taste bitter for some reason why? because the glasses still had wine in it and the waitress apologized about that and stated she has been complaining to the dishwashers to do a better job as this apparently is not the first incident. We had to ask for plates twice as each time she brought new ones out there were dirty with food and finger prints stuck on them. IDK not a happy camper for what I paid.

We visited early Saturday night in September and ate on the patio. The meal overall was lovely. We had the fried ravioli to start, which we ate so fast that I forgot to snap a picture. My partner had a meat calzone which looked HUGE but was actually normal, just super airy. The calzone + marinara was yummy when I stole a bite. I had the campangola pizza, which had great crust. I really enjoyed the topping combination and proportions. I hope this place is successful so we can keep visiting!

Last night was my second time dining from here. First time was a bust, but they were one of the only places open last night. I ordered the lasagna and it was simply amazing! I’m hate it didn’t come with anything but the proportion was plenty. I didn’t even finish it. I will definitely give a few of the other menu items a try.

If I had the option with giving negative stars then that would be my choice. Sadly, I can only do one ⭐️ but do not let that fool you. That one ⭐️ is a - ⭐️ for every aspect of this restaurant. My partner and I had came here a few days ago when it was not even busy. There were literally only 2-3 tables being occupied before we entered. We had sat down and was excited to eat. The server was a lady that was in her 40s-50s and she was very rude and provided extremely poor service. When we had sat she came after 10-16 minutes to finally provide us with a pitcher of water. She then asked us did we know what we wanted to drink. My partner stated that the water would be okay for them for now, but before I could even state a drink that I would like the server quickly walked away. That was the next red flag for her poor service because she should have been mindful that my partner was not sitting or eating alone. Also, she should have been thoughtful that I was there was looking as well. Then, she sh should have thought as well and been considerate to know that the restaurant has a very large Menu, so my partner had simply stated to have water at that moment. In addition, the server provided us with two un-cleaned drinking glasses(Please please check your drinking glasses, plates, and even utensils because they may not be clean at all!!!). The third and last major flag that did not sit well with my partner and I was when after walking away the server walked passed us 4-5 times(Again the restaurant was not busy at all). She walked past us giving us eye contact and looking to clean, but she could have known after making us wait already 10-16 minutes to not have us waiting for another 20-25 minutes to then take our order. We literally were hungry and wanted some great service! After, 25 minutes a another couple walked in that were Caucasian. They were quickly acknowledged to be seated quickly, given water quickly, asked what they wanted to drink quickly, and given bread quickly. This was so shocking to my partner and I because yes we aren’t Caucasian, but we were still people seeking to get great service and to eat(We also are well paying customers when we are eat anywhere). Once we saw the server acting that way to the Caucasian couple. We got up and left. We were literally baffled and upset about the way we were treated. We have ordered take-out from this place many times, so we thought the service would be great if we sat in to eat. Sadly, this place is a little judgmental on race ethnicity that we had experienced and observed.
